The Special K

In class Mr.Whiting came in to make us learn a little bit about ourselves.  I was profile "K." I am not logic, I am gasalt which means I don't do read instructions. For example: If I get a phone for my birthday I just opened the package and start using it.  I also have problems with listening. If I am under I cannot do anything at all. I sometimes have to translate my math homework into my language (Norwegian) to understand what a the thing means.


What could help me with these things would be to sit on the left side to look at the person who is talking. I will maybe need some people help me to communicate which will also help me to listen and remember he or her said.

My Collaborative Lit Circle Blogpost

The benefits of working with a partner is useful because he or she helps me improve my things and that gets us a better grade. It also helps me by looking at example to improve my own writing. Collaborating with a partner was also very nice because I would have to do that much and stress with the homework.

I didn't like to share my Lit Circle with others because I thought I bad at it but now I actually gets some help from my partner so I can now share it with anyone because I think that I did good in this Lit Circles. Working with my partner wasn't that hard because I the other Lit Circle was so long but now it has gotten shorter for me and my partner because we collaborate.

I have new understandings of the book because everybody in my group have a different opinion which they share with me and the rest of the group and that makes me see things from a different angle. Also, it makes me think about things I would never had thought about. When I share something with my Lit Circle group I actually learn the thing I am saying a lot better because sharing something with others makes me think more thoroughly  before telling.

My group made me understand the novel by explaining everything very easily and good. If there was something I did not know, the others would tell me what it was. If I understood something in one way, the others in my group could have another opinion, and we could discuss and we would agree with each other. I thought this was useful because I also got help and advice from them that I should do on my next lit circles. That was very useful.


One of the people in my group had a similar connection and that was his mom being in a car crash and so had my mom.I made some connections about my life that was similar to Jacob's when my lit circle buddy was reading aloud. I also had a bike in Norway like Jacob and I left it outside and that was the opposite. The connections gave my many memories.


I think that Jacob will get tickets to fly to Kenya but how will he get money for the tickets ?  I think Sam will try make Jacob stay but Jacob escapes but this is only what I predict will happen next. I also think he will be looking for his dad in the bush and hopefully he finds his father. The last thing I think will happen is that Sam will get remarried and Jacob will never see Sam ever again.

The differences between Australia+New Zealand and Papau New Guinea

During the 18th century, there were a lot of people that moved to Australia from England, prisoners and others. Some of these people had knowledge and technology that they brought when they moved there. They made their own future in Australia. 

They had a long term relationship with those back in England. When new technology came up in England, this technology became also available in Australia. As more and more ships went between Australia and England, bringing convicts and ordinary Englishmen, they also brought knowledge, understanding, money and technology.

Papua New Guinea had hardly any contact with the outside world except from Australia, that took their natural resources. That's why there are tribes in Papua New Guinea that are still living literally in the stone age.

At the time technology arrived in Australia, Papua New Guinea was ruled by Australia and therefore Australia could decide what to do with Papua New Guinea. They chosed to bring their natural resources to Australia instead of producing and factoring at the spot by bringing technology to Papua New Guinea.   

At all times, large and powerful countries have exploited the small and weak countries, like rich Australia and poor tiny Papua New Guinea. 

My life as a mudskipper

I am a mudskipper and I live in the mangroves in Kuala Selangor. I hate it when people come and crush my friends and sometimes family with their big foot, but I have been lucky. One day I was crawling around looking for my family, but they were in a hole looking for food. That night we found a lot of food so that was nice.

That night I tried to climb one of the mangroves when I saw a gigantic foot right above me! It was a nightmare I thought but it wasn't, it was a real foot and it was large. I suddenly jumped into the mud and got away. When I came back to my home my whole family was dead!

I was having a nightmare about me getting planted with a mangrove. It was horrible until I started growing bigger than the mangroves and I became bigger than anything but then I got stuck in the mud and broke both of my legs. Then I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and could not sleep at all.

This was scary. What if more feet came tumbling around, then everybody would die. Now today was doomsday but would they come back? The next morning I woke up and this day was going to be terrific I thought . At ten o'clock the horrifying feet came back! A whole pack of feet came and they were running over my home! And so I saw a white light.

When A Young Boy Got Bullied

One day when I arrived at school there were three boys in the school corridor teasing this younger boy. I was on my way out of the playground to my classroom when I saw this happening. These boys were pushing the young one, and took his toy and these boys ran away cause I was standing there and I was older than them. I was afraid to go and talk to the boys who was bullying because they were too many, they were three an I was only one person. The boy was crying and I was still standing there and I felt really bad not helping this poor child.

If this would have happened today I would go straight to those bullies and tell to them stop. I would also tell any teacher about this type of bullying.

My first goal for this year is to help anybody that has problems with bullies. My second goal is if there is a new student that is all alone and has no friends I would tell that student to come and join my friends and me  to play UNO or do something so that will make that student not so lonely anymore.

When I showed courage

The time I showed courage was when I told my parents about a boy who was bullying me. Some people might be scared and embarrased to tell their parents that something is wrong.

It was really a misunderstanding that happened between us. I did something that accidently came out wrong, and he started to say bad stuff,to ignore me and to get physical. And then I also ignored him.

I told my parents about the bad language and the physical contact, and they talked to the bully and he then stopped annoying and teasing me. I am glad I told my parents, and I really felt courageous about this.

The Early Life Of The Humans

Looking back at the past, makes us understand why the world today looks the way it does. Also the change of everything like the forest, ocean, ground and other living things.

Also by looking at the past tells us that we today are very different from the early humans.

Early humans used different types of art to express their culture, like cave paintings and rock carvings. Like the rock carvings of the bison’s might represent that they were the strongest animals there, or they might be representing an interesting fight.

The artifacts tell us clues about how they lived.

Like a spear shows us the symbol of them hunting.

My Dream Job

My dream is to be a historian because I like to learn stuff from the past.
A historian reads and print out photos and studies them carefully.
What I really like about them is that they study about the Ancient Egypt.




I also like Archeologists. They dig for dinosaur bones and other things from the past.
They are quite interesting because they actually find things that doesn't exist anymore.
They also dig down like 30 meter underground.




I think the Geologists are interesting because they try to figure out how Earth was
really made.
But when they try to figure it out they usually use the forest or the
jungle.

My First Blog Entry

Hi, I'm Gard and I am from Norway. I enjoy being with friends and family I love fishing with my family near our cabin on the boat. I also am interested in tennis. Its really fun and i enjoy it.
I usually play soccer with all my friends in our apartment and we play for many hours.
I love being in Norway because there so much good fish. Thats why I love fishing.

The book I have been reading lately were George`s Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl.
The next book I've read was Goosebumps by R.L Stine.
The last book and my favorite was Dairy Of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.

The last movie I watched was A-Team.
I really thought that movie was funny. And that was a really good movie.
This movie was almost funnier than Mr.Bean.
You should really watch this movie.

My goal for the year is to improve my handwriting.
Because I am really bad at it. But now my handwriting is getting better so
I hope at the end of the year my handwriting will be better. That is a really important
goal for me.

My social goal for this year is to be better at raising my hand up.
Because often I forget to do it and sometimes I don't even know the answer.
I've been working on it since fourth grade and I have improved.
But this year I'm going to try to raise my hand on almost everything.

My favorite memory of a vacation is when we went to New York.
In New York we actually lived in Brodway and that was amazing.
We went to so many places and we watch mamma mia there.
I loved this vacation.
